What so many fans have been hoping for since the open-ended finale of Season 15 is finally happening: the filming dates for Season 16 are officially confirmed. Starting April 28, the cameras roll again in Bayrischzell, at the parish house, Café Hagen, and the village-helper station. Nine shoot days are known so far.

What Season 15 Left Unresolved
The finale raised more questions than it answered, and that's exactly what makes the new season so gripping: Ava Gartner is still in a coma after the accident. Arthur Moser has vanished, leaving behind nothing but a puzzling farewell letter. And Friedel Gottwald simply drives off with the parting line, “I know what you did in secret.”
That's not just an open ending anymore, that's enough material for a whole new season.
When Will Season 16 Air?
ZDF hasn't announced an air date yet. If they stick to the pattern they've followed so far, an early-2027 premiere is very likely, once again six episodes of roughly 90 minutes each in the Sunday-evening Herzkino slot.
